Women’s Aid Dundalk are currently recruiting a dedicated sessional child protection social worker.
The successful candidate will work as part of their team to support children and young people affected by domestic violence.
In a statement on their Facebook page, Women’s Aid said the position became a possibility as a result of funds raised at a special concert in The Spirit Store back at the start of June.
They said: “We are so grateful to all who have made the funding of this project possible; to the artists who so willingly gave up their time, travelled great distances and made that night so memorable for all who were there; Duke Special, Jinx Lennon, Sophie Coyle, The Four of Us, Ollie Cole, Mark Geary, Gráinne Hunt, Red Twelve, Damian Mc Kenna, Manifesto, Lisa O’Neill, The Frames and Glen Hansard who travelled the whole way from Prague!
It wouldn’t have happened without the creation and hard work of Derek Turner, Stephen Finnegan and all at the Spirit Store. Please know that if you were part of this wonderful night; creating it, organising it, working at it, performing at it or attending it; you have contributed to a project that will make a difference to many children and young people.”
